Best of Sardinia Cycling Tour Itinerary**

Day 1: Olbia – Arrival and Check-in

Upon arrival in Olbia, you will check in to your hotel and have time to settle in after your journey. Depending on your arrival time, you may wish to explore this lively coastal town, known for its relaxed atmosphere and inviting cafés. In the evening, we gather for a welcome meeting followed by dinner, where you’ll meet your fellow travellers and get an overview of the days ahead.

Day 2: Olbia – Palau (45 km / 28 miles)

Our first ride begins along the northeastern coast of Sardinia, where the scenery quickly sets the tone for the week. Quiet roads wind through Mediterranean landscapes dotted with granite outcrops and fragrant vegetation. As we approach Palau, the views open up toward the La Maddalena archipelago, offering glimpses of turquoise waters and rugged islands. We settle in for the night in this charming seaside town.

Day 3: Palau – Castelsardo (84 km / 52 miles)

Today’s route is longer and more varied, following the dramatic northern coastline. The terrain includes rolling hills with rewarding sea views around nearly every bend. We pass through small villages and stretches of unspoiled countryside before reaching Castelsardo, a striking medieval town perched high above the sea. Its narrow streets and historic castle create a memorable setting for the evening.

Day 4: Castelsardo – Alghero (70 km / 43 miles)

We continue west along the coast, riding through a mix of gentle climbs and sweeping descents. The landscape transitions between rocky shoreline and open countryside, offering a constantly changing backdrop. Our destination is Alghero, a vibrant town with strong Catalan influences, known for its historic center, lively waterfront, and excellent cuisine.

Day 5: Alghero – Bosa (64 km / 40 miles)

This stage is often considered one of the most scenic rides of the tour. The coastal road between Alghero and Bosa is famous for its dramatic cliffs, quiet curves, and uninterrupted sea views. Though there are a number of climbs, the relatively short distance allows for a relaxed pace. We arrive in Bosa, a colorful riverside town crowned by a hilltop castle.

Day 6: Bosa – Rest Day

Today is yours to enjoy at your own pace. You may choose to relax by the river, explore the old town’s pastel-colored houses, or take a short walk to the castle for panoramic views. For those who prefer to stay active, optional rides or excursions can be arranged.

Day 7: Bosa – Bolotano (56 km / 35 miles)

Leaving the coast behind, we head inland into a more rugged and less-traveled part of Sardinia. The route becomes more challenging, with steady climbs leading into the island’s mountainous interior. The effort is rewarded with expansive views and a sense of quiet remoteness. We overnight in Bolotano, a small town that offers a glimpse into traditional Sardinian life.

Day 8: Bolotano – Orosei (85 km / 53 miles)

This is the most demanding day of the tour, featuring significant elevation gain and varied terrain. The ride takes us through wild, untouched landscapes, with long climbs and exhilarating descents. As we approach the eastern side of the island, the scenery gradually softens, and we make our way toward Orosei, located near the coast.

Day 9: Orosei – San Teodoro (73 km / 45 miles)

We return to coastal riding today, following quieter roads that trace the shoreline. The terrain is more moderate, allowing you to enjoy the rhythm of the ride and the beauty of Sardinia’s eastern coast. We finish in San Teodoro, a lively resort town known for its beautiful beaches and relaxed atmosphere.

Day 10: San Teodoro – Olbia (30 km / 19 miles)

Our final ride is a shorter, easygoing journey back to Olbia. It’s a chance to reflect on the week while enjoying one last stretch of Sardinian scenery. Upon arrival, we celebrate the completion of the tour with a farewell gathering.

Day 11: Olbia

The tour concludes after breakfast. Depending on your plans, you may depart for home or continue exploring Sardinia at your leisure.
